Born at 16 Charlemont Street, Dublin, and baptised at St Peter's (Church of Ireland), 23 July 1839, fifth son of John PIGOTT, Collector of Paving Taxes, and Elizabeth MAGUIRE; he was married in London, in 1862, to Ellen GILES, of Leeds; they went to Ceylon, 1862, and worked there for the Baptist Missionary Society for 28 years, in Colombo and Ratnapura; they emigrated to N.S.W. in 1890; he was made a priest of the Anglican Church in N.S.W., and served as Curate of Castle Hill (St Stephen's), then Parramatta (St John's), and finally Wentworth Falls (Holy Trinity).

Gravesite Details

The grave is unmarked. The location is unknown, as burial records were destroyed in a bush fire. The details in the photograph were recorded later on his widow's grave in South Head Cemetery, Vaucluse.
