Mildred I. Callon, 102, of Franklin, Ind., died at 1 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2008, at Franklin United Methodist Community.

Mrs. Callon retired from teaching in May 1970 from Clark Township Elementary School. Her first teaching position was in 1923 at the oneroom Bridge School, east of Morgantown. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star Trafalgar #423 and Retired Teachers Association.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2008, at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, with the Rev. Dick Martin officiating. Calling will be from 11 a.m. to service time Wednesday. Burial will be at First Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin, Ind.

Memorials may be made to Franklin United Methodist Community, 1070 W. Jefferson St., Franklin, IN 46131.

Mrs. Callon was born Oct. 28, 1905, in Trafalgar, Ind., the daughter of Jacob Zecharia and Sarah Ellen Jolliffe Tague. She married Harlie R. Callon on May 2, 1924.

Survivors include caretakers, Jean Ann (Raymond) Jones of Whiteland, Ind.; a niece, Cathy Evans of Franklin, Ind.; nephews, Mark Haymaker of Mansfield, Ohio, Norman Tague of Mexico and Michael (Mary) Tague of Summerfield, Fla.; a special niece, Saundra Perry of Columbus, Ind.; and a special nephew, Dan Owens of Greenwood, Ind.; a sister, Gertrude Haymaker of Franklin, Ind.; and several great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Sept. 19, 1987; a brother, Leslie N. Tague; and a niece, Mardelle Tague Harvey.

Mildred I. Callon, 102, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, at the Franklin United Methodist Community. She was a resident of Franklin.

Born Oct. 28, 1905, in Trafalgar, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Zecharia Tague and Sarah Ellen (Jolliffe) Tague. She married Harlie R. Callon on May 2, 1924. He preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 1987.

Survivors include her caretaker, Jean Ann (Raymond) Jones of Whiteland; a sister, Gertrude Haymaker of Franklin; a niece, Cathy Evans of Franklin; three nephews, Mark Haymaker of Mansfield, Ohio, Norman Tague of Mexico and Michael (Mary) Tague of Summerfield, Fla.; a special niece, Saundra Perry of Columbus; a special nephew, Dan Owens of Greenwood; and several great-nieces and -nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Leslie N. Tague; and a niece, Mardelle Tague Harvey.
