Gertrude Alice (Tague) Haymaker, age 96, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was a resident of Franklin. She was born on April 11, 1916 at her home in Trafalgar, Indiana. She was the daughter of Jacob Zachariah Tague and Sara Ellen "Sallie"( Jolliffe) Tague. She married C. Edward Haymaker on December 1, 1935. Survivors include daughter Katherine L. Evans of Franklin; grandchildren, Audrey Evans of Indianapolis; Christina (Evans) Sebastian (Mikel) of Columbus, Indiana and Andrew Lee Haymaker (Holly) of Plano, Texas and Adam Haymaker (Jennifer) of Mansfield, Ohio; three great-grandchildren, Gavin Sebastian, Adam Haymaker, Jr. and Gregory Haymaker and lifelong pen pal Kathleen Hill of Swindon, England with whom she had corresponded since World War II.. She was preceded in passing by her parents, husband, C. Edward Haymaker; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Debra Haymaker; son-in-law, John Evans; sister, Mildred Callon and brother Leslie Norman Tague She was a 1934 graduate of Union Township High School. During World War II, she was employed by Noblitt Sparks Industries in the Personnel and Production Departments for twelve years. She was a member and secretary at First United Methodist Church in Warsaw. She was a seventy-five year member of the Order of Eastern Star, Nineveh Chapter No. 423. Friends may call on Saturday, August 25, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. A service will be held on Saturday, August 25th at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home with burial following at Hopewell Cemetery in Franklin.
