GLADYS ETHEL AMOS
Gladys E. Amos Dies in Hospital
Mrs. Gladys Ethel Amos, 60, a housewife residing at 1306 W Avenue, died in a La Grande hospital on Aug. 31 after an extended Illness. Funeral services will be held at Daniels Funeral Home Wednesday, at 2 p.m. with Bishop Melvin Westenskow officiating. Burial is to be in Island City Cemetery. Mrs. Amos was born at Decatur, Ill., May 16, 1897. She had lived in La Grande for 47 years and was a member of Latter Day Saints church. Survivors include the widower, Orien M. Amos, La Grande; four sons, W. L. Amos, La Grande; Lonnie, Hermiston; Carl M. of Salt Lake City; Leland of Portland and two daughters, Mrs. Elma M. Fullmer, and Mrs. Darlene Hargett, both of La Grande. Five brothers survive; they include Carl and Ray Baum of La Grande: Harry Baum, Portland: Orville Baum, Baker, and Earl Baum, Hazelton, Idaho. Four surviving sisters are Mrs. Noma Combs, La Grande; Mrs. Fern Whallon, Portland; Mrs. Elsie Urie, Buel, Idaho, and Mrs. Myrtle Karren Greenville, Calif. In addition, 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive
