Eddie H. Hughes Jr. of 5453 Savannah Highway, Ravenel, a retired district manager for Durham Life Insurance Company, died Monday in a local hospital.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Stuhr's Downtown Chapel. Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Park.
Mr. Hughes was born May 31, 1926, in Charleston, a son of Eddie H. Hughes and Mary Watts Hughes. He attended The Citadel and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a certified life insurance underwriter and was president of Charleston Toastmasters.
Surviving are a son, Eddie H. Hughes III of Ravenel; a daughter, Phllis H. Robbins of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
