Death Calls Frederick Bruchhof Last Week

Frederick Bruchhof passed to the Great Beyond November 28th, after an illiness of about ten days,

He, with his wife and sons, had made a success of farming near Elrod and this bears mute testimony to his engery and ambition when the agricultural section has been going through trying times.

Frederick William Bruchhof was born at Rufen, Germany, December 28, 1852. At the age of thirty he came to America, settling at Monona, Iowa.

On November 19, 1882, he was united in marriage to Miss Johanna Hoth, to which union eight children were born, four daughters, and four sons. Two children, a son and daughter passed away in infant life.

In 1883, he located near Hawkeye, Iowa, working as a farm laborer, five years later he started farming for himself in the neighborhood of Fredericksburg, Iowa.

In 1905, the family moved to South Dakota, living in the vicinity of Henry, where he riseded until his death November 28, 1928, 1:00 o'clock a.m. at the age of 75 years and 11 months.

He leaves to mourn his wife, three sons, Fred, Charles and Alwin, all of Henry, and three daughters, Mrs. H. F. Klotz, of Fredericksburg, Iowa, Mrs. Joe Shape of Sanborn, North Dakota, and Mrs. W. E. Devaney of Halbrook, Arizona, and seventeen grandchildren.

Funeral services were held last Sunday at the home at 1:30 and at the Lutheran church in Henry at about two, Rev. W. F. Sprengeler of Grover officiating and interment was in Lorrinda Cemetery, at Henry.
