They had 11 children: Sylvester, Harve, Arthur, Jonathan "Juber", Ola, Temple, Almeda, Reason, Nettie, Francis Wilburn, Lulu Blevins, and adopted their granddaughter, Shirley Kidd (daughter of Temple and Storey Kidd).

Great-grandma Mary always carried chewing tobacco in her apron pocket.
