Grandson of Evelina Deneef and the late Marinus Deneef and the late Frank and Dorothy Hummert, devoted nephew of Frank (Janie) Hummert, Mike Hummert, Chris Simpson, the late Henry Hummert and Tina (Bob) Stevens. Dear cousin of Heather and Tiffany Hummert and David Stevens, Nick, Tony, Sean and Brandon Simpson and the late Matt and Brian Hummert.
Ryan had a positive outlook on life and was blessed with many friends. We will miss his wisdom and sense of humor and treasure the many happy memories of our life with him.

Hummert, the son of former Maplewood Mayor Andy Hummert, began his career in August 2007 after graduating from paramedic training. He graduated from the St. Louis County Fire Academy in March.
Those who knew him are remembering him as a good friend and a good person who died doing what he loved.
