A Solemn Requiem will be read at the funeral rites at St. Joseph's Church, Pierz, at ten, Saturday, for Mrs. Frank Flicker, who passed away Monday morning at 8:20 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Grundhoefer in Glendale, California. Celebrant of the Requiem will be the Rev. Robert Voigt, with Rev. Robert Schulzetenberg and Rev. Richard Leisen assisting as deacon and subdeacon.
Friends and relatives will begin making visits at the Virnig Funeral Home in Pierz from Friday morning on. The Christian Mothers will recite the rosary at 8, Friday evening, the Parish at 8:30 and the Knights of Columbus at 9:30. Interment will be in St. Joseph's cemetery, Pierz.
Mrs. Flicker passed away very suddenly after a heart attack, at the age of 69. The former Mary Gross, she was the daughter of Barbara and Theo. Gross, born here August 30, 1889. She married Frank Flicker at Pierz, February 7, 1911, after which they farmed northeast of Pierz until retirement in the village in 1946, having spent her entire life in this community.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Mrs. John Grundhoefer (Laura), Glendale, California; four sons, Werner and Melvin, this place, Ray, Glendale, California, and Ronald, Somerset, Wisconsin; 15 grandchildren; one brother, John Gross, Brainerd; and one sister, Mrs. John Weidenbach (Antonia), Randall. One brother, Nick Gross, preceded her in death.
