PASTOR WRITES ABOUT VICTIM OF TYPHOID
Mrs Eva May McCleod, whose maiden name was Gruwell, was born in San Jose, Calif., Dec 6th 1883 and passed to her reward at Eugene, Ore Dec 25th, 1914, aged 31 years and 19 days.

When an infant she moved with her parents to Gilroy where she remained until her marriage on Jan 1, 1902 to Theodore Bryant McCleod and immediately came to Tuolumne county settling at Tuolumne. Here she lived with her husband who is a lumberman until about five years ago when they removed to the state of Oregon and resided at Abel Lane county until Mrs McCleod was taken seriously ill with typhoid fever about a month ago, and was removed to a hospital in Eugene for treatment. However medical attention was of no avail and she finally succumbed to the dread disease on Christmas night at 7:45 o'clock.

Out of three children born, two girls and one boy, only one little girl six years old is living, Lucille, who mourns with the father and other bereaved relatives, viz: a mother, Mrs Alice Gruwell of Tuolumne, six sisters, Mrs Ada Campbell of Confidence, Mrs Bertha Turner of Tuolumne, Mrs Grace Kickham of Gilroy and three brothers, Messrs Felix, Arthur and O H Gruwell, all of Tuolumne.

Mrs McCleod was a lovable character, an affectionate mother and a faithful wife. She expressed the desire that her family might be united after death.

The funeral service was held at Burden's Undertaking Parlors Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock and internment was in the IOOF cemetery.
