   Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at 4:00 o'clock for George D. Cherry, 64, well known citizen of Trinidad. Burial was at Long Prairie cemetery with services conducted by Rev. Joe Everhart of Kerens.
   Mr. Cherry died at 7:00 o'clock Sunday morning at the P.&S. hospital in Corsicana.
    Surviving are his widow; six sons and step-sons, Earl Washburn of Athens; Cyral Washburn of Trinidad; Colonel Cherry, Hubert Cherry, Johnny Cherry and Gene Cherry of Trinidad; three daughters, Mrs. Durwood Lofton of Trinidad, Mrs. Sam O. Johnson of Dallas and Mrs. C. Airheart of Trinidad; two sisters, Mrs. Bill Bernard of Corpus Christi and Mrs. Ring Cockrell of Kerens; and four brothers, Glenn Cherry of Sterling City, Andrew Cherry of Lyford, Boss Cherry of Corpus Christi and Charlie Cherry of Lyford.
    Mr. Cherry had been a resident of Trinidad for many years. For the past nine years he had been in charge of the Butler and Calhoun farm there.
