Obituary - The Parsons Sun

Lurie E. Bolander, 79, resident of South Mound 25 years, at 11:20 o'clock last night at Mercy hospital. He had been under treatment at the hospital almost a year.

Born Jan. 22, 1867 in Indiana, he came to Kansas with his family, when he was 16 years old. They settled in Dennis vicinity and on Feb. 17, 1886, he married Miss Dora Jane Brown, of Dennis. They lived in this vicinity until 1921, when they moved to South Mound.

Mr. Bolander was a farmer and a contractor. He built several dams on the Neosho river and was road overseer at South Mound for a number of years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by 4 sons, Lurie F., Tulsa; William H., Parsons; Jesse J., Labette City, and Fred E. Los Angeles; three daughters, Mrs. Gracie Anderson, Sonora, Cal., Mrs. Minnie M. Spriggs, South Mound, and Mrs. Bessie M. Fink, Richmond, Cal.; 19 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Emma Bolander-Hornback.......
