Alfred L. Hughes, 57, died suddenly yesterday morning from a heart attack at the home of his father, Levi Hughes, on the Cle Elum highway. He was born at Havana, Kansas, February 3, 1884. He had lived here since 1916, when the family moved to Ellensburg from the coast. He was a member of the IOOF Lodge.
Besides his father, he is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Frank Carpenter of Seattle, Mrs. Otis DesVoigne and Mrs. Clark Wheeler of Ellensburg, Mrs. Sam Leathers of Winlock, and Mrs. Lula Taylor of San Diego; three brothers, Frank Hughes of Ellensburg and Will and Paul Hughes of Seattle and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Honeycutt Chapel with Rev. Joseph Greene of the Baptist Church officiating.
