Leone Josephine Powers, 88, of Sandy passed away on March 4, 2006 at her home. She was born on January 29, 1918 near Freedom, Oklahoma to Joseph Eli and Lizzie Catherine (Martino) Carver. She married William Edward Powers on December 6, 1942 in Gulfport, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brothers, Clyde Lee Carver and Edward Hugh Carver; and her sisters, Geneva Frances Shurts, Hazel Lorene Gay, and Inez Opal Clothier. She is survived by her daughters, Eileen Fuessel of Sandy and Janelle Cox of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and seven grandchildren. A family graveside memorial will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy.
