"Mrs. M. L. Jones of Elmo died at her daughter's home, Mrs. J. R. Hall there Saturday July 13th. Interment Sunday in Weaver Cemetery. She was born March 27, 1840 in Tennessee and came to Texas in 1852. She was married to J. L. Jones in 1859 and nine children were born, four whom are still living, Mrs. R. E. Pratt of Elmo, R. D. and O. D. Jones of Terrell and Mrs. J. H. Hall of Elmo, nineteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Another section of the paper Elmo news- Grandma Jones died Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. R. Hall. Burial was held Sunday in the Weaver Cemetery. She was laid to rest by the side of her husband who died in 1896. She leaves two daughters and two sons, Mrs. J. R. Hall and Mrs. R. E. Pratt of Elmo, Ben and O. D. Jones of Terrell."

This is a two-sided gravestone for Jesse Lafayette Jones and Louisa Melissa Moody Jones. The side with Louisa Jones' inscription is now practically illegible. The headstone needs cleaning and recutting.
