He was born April 25, 1923 at Stryker, Ohio to Clifford "J.C." and Barbara (Short) Armstrong. On March 18, 1945 he was married to Thelma Rufenacht, who survives.
Surviving are one son, Larry (Beverly) Armstrong of Archbold; two daughters, Joan, (Howard) Greene of Surprise, Arizona; Nancy (Jim) Emens of Waldron,
Michigan; a brother, Jesse Armstrong, 8 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
A son, Keith, two brothers, Carl Armstrong and an infant Robert; three sisters, Pearl Sigg, Aretha Hausch, and Hilda Dohm preceded him in death.
Memorial services were held March 8, 2008 at Central Mennonite Church, Archbold, Ohio with burial in Pettisville Cemetery, Pettisville, Ohio.
