Glen E. Barnes, 67, of Galena, died at 2:55 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, 1991, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin.

He was born July 2, 1924, in Galena. He moved back to the area seven years ago after living in Wichita, where he worked for Cessna Aircraft Corp. as a machinist supervisor. He retired in 1982.

Membership was held in Macedonia Baptist Church, Galena Masonic Lodge No. 194, and Wichita Scottish Rite. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II from 1942 to 1946.

Mr. Barnes married Edith L. Pursley August 18, 1945, at Galena.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Carl E. Barnes and John S. Barnes of Wichita, and Gary W. Barnes of Joplin; two daughters, Glenda Clark and Gay Bennett of Wichita; one brother Lucky G. Barnes of Bakersfield, Calif.; two sisters, Edith Brown of Galena and Julie Winters of Los Angeles, Calif.; twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Galena, with the Rev. Marvin Cleveland officiating.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Derfelt Funeral Home in Galena.
