Amasy A. Lovelace, a Rockton blacksmith for many years, died suddenly at 6:30 Saturday morning following his return from the paper mill where he was employed as night watchman. Mr. Lovelace was 68 years old. For the past four years he had been in poor health.
Mr. Lovelace born July 3, 1874. He was married to Minnie E. Wentz on December 25, 1895. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias lodge.
Surviving are his wife; two children, Miss Imogene Lovelace of Rockton, and Fred Lovelace of New York city; three grandchildren, and a sister Mr. Susan Woodburn of Rockford. He was preceded in death by four children.
Funeral servives were held at one o'clcok Monday afternoon at the Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer funeral chapel in Beloit. The Knights of Pythias were in charge of the services and burial was made in the Rockton cemetery.
