Entered Into Eternal Rest Saturday, Oct 8, 1977.

CHARLES VANNESS

Charles VanNess, 35, of Ronan was killed in a head-on collision Saturday near Ronan. VanNess was born Nov. 10, 1941 in Ronan and graduated from Ronan High School in 1958. He was an Army veteran and had worked as a building contractor and rancher. He was a owner of the Ronan Bakery.

Survivors include two sons, Elliot and Troy, two stepsons, Mark and Royce, and daughter, Charlotte, all in Ronan. Other survivors include seven brothers, George and Rodney of Polson; Jerry, Moses Lake, Wash; Roy of Ronan; Robin of Pablo; Paul of Townsend; and Joe of Glenrock, Wyo; three sisters, Phyllis Sharbono and Marrion Clairmont, both of Ronan and Gail Detert of Tacoma, Wash; a grandmother, Anna VanNess, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George VanNess of Round Butte.

Funeral services were held Tuesday in the United Methodist Church of Ronan with the Rev. George Sanders officiating. Burial was in the Mountain View Cemetery under the direction of Shrider's Mortuary of Ronan.

Pallbearers were his seven brothers, George C. VanNess, Jerry VanNess, Roy VanNess, Robin VanNess, Paul VanNess, Rodney VanNess and Joe VanNess.
