Services for John (Jack) Ellenberger, 62, of Rt. 2, Chesterton, who died Saturday at Porter Memorial Hospital after a brief illness, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wetmore Funeral Home with the Rev. Seth Dyrness officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation is until 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today. The family requests memorials to the Church of the Good Shepherd.
Ellenberger, a salesman for Suburban Homes Corp., was born in East Chicago Aug. 19, 1917, a son on Nevin and Blanche (Harper) Ellenberger. He married Ruth M. Ball in Valparaiso Oct. 27, 1940, was a World War II Navy veteran and resided in Valparaiso 33 years.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Jones of Portage; a son, Nevin of LaPorte; two sisters, Violet Johnston of Hobart and Vera Curran of Alberta, Canada; a brother, Herbert of Hobart; and four grandchildren.
