OBITUARIES
Claude Allen Abbott
Claude Allen Abbott, 51, of West Jordan, died at a local hospital Tuesday at 10:15 a.m., following an operation for appendicitis.
Mr. Abbott was born in West Jordan March 26, 1880, where he had resided the greater part of his life. He was an active member of the L.D.S. church, serving as a member of the West Jordan Stake Y.M.M.I.A. board and as an officer of the seventies quorum of that stake. He was a general welfare worker. Mr. Abbott also served as chairman of the depositors committee of the Midvale State bank and was well known as a livestock man in the intermountain states. At the time of his death he was associated with the Bear River Mutual Fire Insurance Company and the Utah State Farm Mutual Auto Insurance company. He had served as tax assessor for south Salt Lake county.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Nellie Birch Abbott; four sons, Floyd A. Abbott of Spokane, Wash.; Orlin J., George S. and Claude Blaine Abbott of West Jordan; one brother, C. L. Abbott of West Jordan, and one sister, Mrs. Charles A. Greagor of Salt Lake.
Funeral arrangements are in charge of Bluemel & Knight mortuary.
