He was born in Meade Co. KY on Aug. 22, 1901 the son of the late John Lark Kellems and Jarusha Pipes Kellems.
Mr. Kellems was a retired employee of Riverside Stone Co. Wolf Creek KY.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs Dorothy Vandiver Kellems, two children James Ray Kellems Sr, Battletown, KY Mrs Hollis (Bettie) Sutherland, Brandenburg, KY one sister, Mrs George (Myrtle) Hockman, Brandenburg, KY; four grandchildren and to step-grandchildren 6 nieces and 5 nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 pm Moon. Jan 22, 1973 from Chapel of Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Buchanan officiating. Interment in Parr Cemetery directed by Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home. Pallbearers were James E. Taylor, Cleve Thompson, William Kellems, Delbert Valentour, Melvin Hockman, Oakley E. Hockman.
