Born in Nelson, Nebraska, married Violet A. March 25, 1939 in Altadena, CA. Died at Brewster, KS.

J.(sic) N. Brown, son of Clair and Freeda Brown, was born in Nelson, Nebraska, January 6, 1912 and passed away in his home in Brewster, Kansas August 24, 1968.
He is survived by his wife, a son, Clair of Brewster; a daughter, Mrs. L.D. Smith of Okemah, Oklahoma; two granddaughters; his mother, Mrs. Freeda Brown; two sisters, Mrs. J. Classi and Mrs. Richard Sullivan; five nephews and two niece (sic), all of Brewster; and two uncles and an aunt of Nelson.
Interment was made in the Brewster Cemetery with grave services by the Goodland, Kansas, Elks Lodge.
Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Eckles were accompanied by Philip Eckles and Maxine McCutchan in going to Brewster, Kansas Wednesday to attend the funeral of I.N. Brown. They returned the same day. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Courlay also drove down to the funeral and remained for a visit with Mrs. Gourlay's sister, Mrs. Freda (sic) Brown, until Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Duke Eckles drove down to Hays, Kansas on Tuesday and were overnight guests of the Fleharty family. Joan Fleharty accompanied her parents to the funeral on Wednesday.
