Robert E. Henry, 83, of Sanford, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday November 8, 2006. He was born in Island Pond, Vermont on May 12, 1923, a son of John and Selvina (Lamoureux) Henry.
Robert served his country in the US Army during WWII. On June 25, 1950 he married the former Adrienne Alexandre at Holy Family Catholic Church in Sanford.
Robert loved the outdoors especially fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Adrienne Henry of Sanford, his three children, Julie Sawyer and her husband, Ron of Yarmouth, Steve Henry and his wife, Kathy of Springvale, and Christine Libby and her husband, Matthew of New Durham, NH, five grandchildren, Desiree, Beau, Grant, Katelyn and Cameron, three step grandchildren, Kristin Sullivan, Kim Sullivan and Tom Sullivan, one brother, Floyd Henry of Sanford as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday November 13th at 11am at St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church in Sanford. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to Hospice of Southern Maine, 901 Washington Ave, Suite 104, Portland, Maine 04103-9864.
