Curtis "Pa" Monk

Curtis "Pa" Monk was born Nov. 1, 1930, in Flomot, to Ace Daniel and Nancy Ann Gussi (Gibson) Monk. After graduating high school, he became a truck driver for many years before he drove a bus for the Wilson and New Home School Districts. Upon Pa's retirement, he was active in competitive BBQ cooking and took pride in helping his friends. Pa served on the Board of the Country Party for seven years. Pa married Janice "Ma" Brown in 1983 and she preceded him in death in 2000. Pa enjoyed all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was fortunate to have a large extended family that came to include many friends. It can be said about Pa that once he met you, you weren't a friend, you were family.

Pa was survived by many love ones.

Services will take place Tuesday, Nov. 6th, at 7 p.m., in W.W. Rix Chapel , 1901 Broadway. A visitation will be an hour before the service, at 6 p.m., at the same location.
