Deceased Name: Faye Hansen Halling MANTUA - Faye Hansen Halling, 81, passed away peacefully at her home Monday, Feb. 17, 2003.

Faye was born April 9, 1921 in Willard, Utah to Clifford and Sylvia Nelson Hansen, the oldest of five children. Faye has lived in Mantua since she was five years old. She married her eternal companion, Lynn J. Halling on August 9, 1940 in the Logan LDS Temple. They are the parents of six children.

Faye attended school in Mantua and Brigham City, graduating from Box Elder High School. She loved to learn new things and encouraged her family to do the same. Faye worked for the Box Elder School District for 20 years in the school lunch program.

Faye was very active in the LDS Church, having served as a Primary President, in Relief Society presidencies, as a visiting teacher for over 50 years and in the German Name Extraction program for 10 years, until her eyesight started to go bad.

Faye was an example to all who knew her and was loved by many. Faye had many talents that she shared with family and friends. She loved to work in her yard and flower garden, spending hours with her husband creating a beautiful yard. Faye was a beautiful seamstress, spending many hours sewing dresses for her daughters. Faye was an excellent cook, always wanting to feed whoever came to her home. Everyone, especially her grandchildren, loved "Grandma"s rolls". She enjoyed counted cross-stitch, crochet, basket weaving and completing hand-quilted quilts. She continued to complete hand tied quilts, mostly by touch, after losing her eyesight.

Faye is survived by her husband of 62 years, Lynn Halling, of Mantua.

Six children; Richard (Raefel) Halling of Tulsa, OK, Carolyn (Steve) Fillmore of Smithfield, Alaine (Richard) Nelson of Layton, Susan (Richard) Jeppsen & Deanne (Craig) Williams both of Mantua, Lynette Johnson of Sandy, 19 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
