Services Held Friday For W. Walton
Interment at Venus
Willard Walton, son of James and Lydia Walton, was born in Kansas, October 22, 1871, and passed away at the home of his son, Jess Walton, August 27, 1946, at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 5 days. He had been in poor health for the past twenty three weeks.
In 1872 he moved with his parents to Troy, Iowa where they lived until he was nine years of age. At that time they moved to Knox County, Nebraska where they homesteaded near Walnut. It was there that Mr. Walton grew to manhood.
On December 25, 1892 he was married to Bell Adams. Twelve children were born to this union. The family made their home at various places in Knox County.
His wife past away May 8, 1928 and for the past seventeen years he had made his home with his son Jess.
He is survived by four sons, Jesse of Pierce; Floyd of Creighton; Cecil of Venus and Perry of McIntyre, Iowa; eight daughters, Ereath Yount, Martha Loney, Esther Weber and Loretta Johnson of Plainview, Alma Shepard of Bushnell, Mabel Bromwich of Winner, South Dakota, Lottie Hart of Winnetoon and Ivah Hart of Walker, Iowa, one sister Elsie Coe of Spokane, Washington, one brother, Herny Walton of Ainsworth, Nebraska, fifty-four grand children and several neices and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Ashburn Mortuary, Friday, August 30 at 1:00 P.M. and at 2:30 P.M. Rev. B.H. Hart was in charge of the services. Interment was made at Venus, Nebraska.
