DALHART - Florence Willis, 100, died Thursday, April 2, 1998.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Hass Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Frank Peery, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Willis was born near Vernon. In 1898, they homesteaded to Indian Territory, to what is now the Sayre, Okla., area. She moved to Sayre in 1908 and attended school there. She graduated from Sayre High School in 1915 and from the University of Oklahoma in 1927.

She married Asa Willis in 1933 at Erick, Okla. They moved to Texline in 1942 and developed land for irrigation. Mr. Willis died in 1971.

Mrs. Willis was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church, the Gleemer Sunday School Class, the United Methodist Women's, the McDowell Music Club and the Altrusa Club.

Survivors include two stepdaughters, Elizabeth Angel and Othella Sherrill, both of Dalhart.

The family requests memorials be to Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart, Girlstown USA in Amarillo, the Friendship House in Amarillo or Faith City Mission in Amarillo.
