Prentice lived most of his life on the family farm near Hext. Prentice married Anna Marie Tennery (1907-1984) in the late 1930's; they had two daughters. He married Mrs. Ethel Gardner Marquis (1904-2004) in 1964 and they had recently moved to Sayre after selling the farm.
