Marvin George Wright, 93, of Crossett died Monday, July 16, 2007. Born August 7, 1913, in Manifest, LA, to John Estle and Gracie Claudia Pierce Wright, he was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of AmericanLegion Post # 1 in Little Rock. Mr. Wright retired as an engineer from LP&L after 43 years of service and was a charter member and deacon of South Main Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Olaf and Lee Wright; and three sisters, Ruth McMillin, Dee La Prarie, and Daisy Wright.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Sarah Brantley Wright of Crossett; one son, Norman Wright of Austin, TX; one daughter, Brenda Savage and husband Jim of West Palm Beach, FL; one brother, Melton Wright of Orange, TX; one sister, Irmarie Scott of West Memphis; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 19, in the South Main Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmie Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park in Monroe, LA, at 2 p.m. under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.

Pallbearers are to be Gary Booker, Jeff Harrison, Billy Howie, Jim Johnson, Bobby Keen and Rick Williams. Honorary pallbearers are to be Bob Brooks, Bill Browning, Billy Morris, Jimmie Edgar, Roland Pruett, Ray Whitehead, Johnny Gathright, Dirk Lauhon, Wayne Mixon and Scott Sasser.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 18, from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
