Funeral services for Vera Velma Schultz, 73, were held last Saturday at Town and Country Christian Church with Rev. John States officiating. Interment followed in Alva Municipal Cemetery with Wharton Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements. She passed away on February 24, 1994 at Alva Share Medical Center. She was born on April 17, 1920 near Freedom to Jerry Edward and Grace Lillian (Davidson) Beagley. She graduated from Freedom High School with the Class of 1938. She married Jake Schultz on August 23, 1941 in Woodward. To their marriage five children were born. They farmed and ranched in the Coy community until 1980 when they retired and moved to Alva. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nova Jean; her parents; and her sisters, Nola Grace Storer and Laura Alta Bliss. She is survived by her husband, Jake; her daughters, Roxie Ann Duncan of Bridge City, Texas and Trixie Lou Leslie of Dacoma; her sons, Clark Schultz and Levi Schultz, both of Alva; her sister, Dixie Dollie Clemence of Waynoka; her brothers, Lloyd Jerry Beagley of Freedom, Alfred Lewis Beagley of Buffalo, Carl Joe Beagley of Humboldt, Kansas, William John Beagley of Ponca City, and Jim Max Beagley of Freedom; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
