Funeral services for Laura Alta Bliss, 61, will be held at 4 p.m. today at Freedom School Auditorium with Rev. Marvin Moberly officiating. Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery with Wharton Funeral Chapel directing arrangements. She died yesterday at St. Mary's Hospital in Enid. She was born on September 23, 1921 near Freedom, the daughter of Jerry Edward and Grace Lillian (Davidson) Beagley. She graduated from Freedom High School with the Class of 1938. She married Alfred Leroy Bliss on May 17, 1941 in Woodward. Following their marriage, they lived in the Lookout area where they farmed and ranched. She was postmistress of Lookout Post Office for 27 years. They retired in 1980 and moved to Alva. She was preceded in death by her husband and her father. She is survived by her daughters, Janice Marie Wade of Velma, Sandra Kay Wimmer of Freedom, and Staci Jean Bliss of Alva; her son, Wayne Allen Bliss of Las Vegas, Nevada; her mother, Grace Beagley of Buffalo; her sisters, Vera Velma Schultz of Alva, Nola Grace Storer of Buffalo, and Dixie Dollie Clemence of Freedom; her brothers, Carl Joe Beagley of Humboldt, Kansas, Alfred Lewis Beagley of Buffalo, William John Beagley of Arkansas City, Kansas, and Lloyd Jerry Beagley and Jim Max Beagley, both of Freedom; and six grandchildren.
