Mr. Lyons was a native of Carter County and A son of the Late Mack D. and Tessie A. Lyons. He was also preceded in death by a great grandchild Kimberly Amber Kurtz.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years Betty Ann Lyons (Suite); two Daughters Betty Viola Isenberg (Robert), Leonardtown, Md., and Cheryl Ann Morgan (George Sr), Mechanicsville, Md.; three sisters, Lela Heaton (Eugene), Roan Mountian, Pearl Owens, Morganton, N.C., and Linda Gouge (Fred), Erwin; Elbert Lyons (The late Betty), Hampton, Earl Lyons, Roan Mountain, and Herman Lyons, Valdese, N.C.; Grandchildren, Donna K. Spalding, Karen M. Heard, Crystal A. Morgan, Tammy L. Heard, Jenny M. Heard, Katherine A. Morgan, and George E. Morgan Jr.; Great Grandchildren Joseph L. Spalding, Anissa N. Spalding, Destiny A. Mellen, and Charles R. Mellen III, One aunt and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Byrl Lyons will be conducted at 8 P.M. Monday, March 19, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Steve Coonce and the Rev. Jerry Honeycutt Officiating. Jim and Judy Church will Provide the music. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 20th, in Lacey Cemetery, Bob Lacey Rd. Roan Mountian, Tennessee. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, will be Doug Heaton, Roy LaValley Jr, William Offenbacker, Kenneth Owens, Robert George Isenberg, and Sammy Owens. The Family will recive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday to go to the cemetery.
