She was the daughter of the late Mack and Tessie Borders Lyons and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Elbert Lyons, Byrl Lyons and Grant Lyons.
Mrs. Heaton was a member of Victory Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Heaton, of the home; a son, Doug Heaton, of the home; two sisters, Pearl Owens, Morganton, N.C., and Linda Gouge, Erwin; and two brothers, Earl C. Lyons, Roan Mountain, and Herman Lyons. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mrs. Heaton will be conducted at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Honeycutt officiating. Music will be under the direction of Victory Baptist Church. Interment will be at Perry Cemetery.
