David Eslie Stewart was born in Sullivan County Indiana to David James Stewart and Malissa Correll Stewart. He attended Merom College where he met his future wife, Genevieve Steele, They married on June 28, 1906, in Sullivan County Indiana. Their children were Lois Mildred Stewart, Thelma Maxine Stewart, Malcolm David Stewart, Harold Steele Stewart, Pauline Agnes Stewart, Freda Stewart and Hobart Stewart.

Obituary:

David E. Stewart, 91, 202 W. 3rd St., died at 5:55 p.m. Saturday at a local nursing home.
He was born in Sullivan and was reared in that area. He attended Merom College and Watch and Optical School in St. Louis, Mo. He was retired from Delco-Remy Division.
Stewart was a member of the South Meridian Church of God, Killbuck Retirees and had lived in this area for the past 44 years. Surviving with the widow, Genevieve, are five children, 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Rowe and Weston Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Hart officiating. Burial will be in Merom.
