Mrs. Ary Mitchell

RIVERTON, Kan. --- Mrs. Ary Mitchell, 84, died at 6 o'clock Monday night in a Cherryvale, Kan., nursing home following a short illness.

Mrs. Mitchell was born April 3, 1880, in Danville, Ill. She was married in 1903 in Riverton and she and her husband had made their home in the same house since. She was a member of the Friends church.

Survivors include her husband, George Mitchell; one daughter, Mrs. Charles Golier of Independence, Kan.; one sister, Mrs. Irene Kirk of Riverton, Kan.; one brother, Homer Potter of Joplin; and two grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements will be under direction of Shurman funeral home of Baxter Springs.

, 74 years old, 2315 McConnell avenue, suffered an apparent heart attack at his home at 7:45 o'clock Sunday night and was pronounced dead on arrival at Freeman's hospital, where he was taken by ABC ambulance service.

Born October 18, 1893, at Labette, Kan., he moved to Joplin in 1962 from Baxter Springs, Kan.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Nona Potter of the home; one son, John R. Potter of Galena route 2; nine daughters, Mrs. Arthur Derfelt and Mrs. Ed Lynch, both of Baxter Springs, Kan., Mrs. Margaret Buckmaster of Miami, Okla.; Mrs. Helen Fry, Mrs. John Anderson, Mrs. Thomas Koppel and Mrs. Floyd Pool, all of LaPuente, Calif., Mrs. Michael Marcoux of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Mrs. O'Dell Harris of Paramount, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Mrs. John Mincieli, 3428 Pearl
avenue; one sister, Mrs. Irene Kirk of Galena route 2; 32 grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Parker mortuary.
