L. E. Shellman Expires Today
Lewis E. Shellman, 54, died at his home, East Berlin R. 2, Reading township, at 10:15 o'clock this morning of complications.
He was born in Adams County, a son of the late George Shellman and Emma Mickley Shellman. He was employed for the past 25 years at the Bethlehem quarries, near Hanover, and was a member of the Hampton Lutheran church and the Hampton Fire Company.
Surviving are his mother; his widow, Mae Asper) Shellman; three sons, Robert Shellman, Hanover; Herbert Shellman, Mechanicsburg and Guy, at home; three daughters, Kathleen Ruhlman; and Bonnie and Mary Shellman, all at home; seven grandchildren; and the following brothers and sisters:
Mrs. Mary Fink, New Oxford; Mrs. Albert Thomas, Hampton; Mrs. Virgie Jacobs, East Berlin R.D.; William Shellman, Thomasville; George, Gettysburg; Ernest Shellman, East Berlin R.D.; and Guy, Hampton.
Funeral services Thursday, meeting at the Pittenturff funeral home, York Springs, at 1:30 o'clock, with further services at the Hampton Lutheran church, the pastor, the Rev. Samuel Clark, officiating. Interment in the Hampton Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock.
