Death of Pioneer of 1848-
Richard Crooks died yesterday morning sometime, at his house in Syracuse precinct, where he had lived alone, an old bachelor, for many years. He was born in Indiana, and came to Oregon in 1848. He leaves one brother, Jos. H. Crooks, of Prineville, and two sisters, Mrs. Jane Miller of near Jefferson, and Mrs. Nellie Bowen, of Salem. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Miller's cemetery,
