Robert C. McMinn, 79, of 36 West Ely St, died at Alliance City Hospital at 8:15 PM, Monday, 9 Sep 1968, following a three year illness. Born 9 Sep 1889, in Darlington, PA, Mr. McMinn lived in this area for 50 years. He was formerly employed at Transue and Williams Steel Forging as a hammerman and at the former McCaskey Register Co. After his retirement, he was a school guard at North Lincoln Avenue and W. Ely St. A member of the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church in Darlington, he was also a past president of Eagles Lodge 2174 of Alliance. Survivors include one son, Robert S, Alliance; two daughters, Mrs. Gary Gantz, Alliance; and Mrs. Beth Bard, Phoenix; a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Ryser, Alliance, and a brother, Milton McMinn, New Galaxy, PA; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. His wife Elsie (Lane) preceded him in death in 1953. A son and daughter also preceded him. Funeral services will be held at the Myers Funeral Home at 1 PM, Friday, 13 Sep 1968. Burial will be in the Alliance City Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 PM Thursday, 12 Sep 1968.
