Arvilla Pearl Truex, 105, of Central Avenue, died at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2002, her home.

Mrs. Truex was a Gold Star Mother. She was the subject of a "100 and Counting" Republic feature article in 1999.

A private prayer service will be conducted by the Rev. Jon Carlstrom at Barkes, Inlow & Weaver Funeral Home on Washington Street. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bremen Cemetery in Bremen.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the donor's choice of charities.

Born in Bremen Aug. 29, 1896, Mrs. Truex was the daughter of Albert and Sarah Price Leeper. She married Francis W. Truex June 29, 1918. He died July 28, 1967.

Survivors include a daughter, Mildred Seal of Columbus; sons, Wayne O. Truex of Columbus, Lowell L. Truex of Pensacola, Fla., Royce J. Truex of Kentfield, Calif., and Robert W. Truex of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sons, Francis Truex Jr. and Eugene Truex; a daughter, Helen L. Truex; four brothers; and three sisters.
