Byron was the son of Henry E. Jones & Laura "Belle" Robison Jones. His mother died in 1895 when Byron was 5 months old. He was raised in Windsor, IL by his father & step-mother, Mertie Fling Jones. He had one sister, Eva Belle, one half-sister, Gladys, and three half-brothers, Cecil, Eugene & Paul. He served in France during WWI. He married Irene Inman of Tower Hill, IL on Nov 11, 1920. The couple had three daughters and one son.
