Barbara was born January 31, 1922, in Edinburg, IL, to Byron and Irene (Inman) Jones. She graduated from Windsor High School in 1940. She then attended Sparks Business College in Shelbyville before going to Chicago as a civil service office worker for the Treasury Department. In January 1944, she enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Women's Reserve, stationed in Arlington, VA, working in the Navy Annex for the duration of the war.
In 1945, Barbara married John W. Kasey and together they had four children: Michael, Leslie, Mark and Patrick. After John's passing in November 1957, Barbara continued to run his insurance business until she sold the business in 1977.
In January 1978, Barbara married Philip Passalacqua and he passed away in January 1992.
Barbara is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Tom Newell; son, Mark Kasey; two daughters-in-law; stepson, Pete Passalacqua; 13 grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Colleen Mudge of WI and Vicki (David) Freemon of Shelbyville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Byron "Boy"; both husbands; sons: Michael and Patrick; stepson, Vincent; stepdaughter, Roseann and granddaughter, Paula Newell.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home in Windsor with Chaplain Roger Edwards officiating. Burial will take place in Ash Grove Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion Post #725 of Windsor and Post #289 of Strasburg. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home in Windsor. Memorials may be made in her name to the American Legion Auxiliary Post #725 of Windsor.
