OBITUARY:
N.T.McGeorge, of Alameda, but for many years a resident of St. Helena, died at Los Gatos, Santa Clara County, Tuesday morning, having suffered many months with that terrible disease, consumption.
Never very rugged, Mr. McGeorge could not stand the cold, damp fog of the bay and a cold fastened upon him which soon caused his health to fall and consumption claimed him as its victim. Nine months ago he was compelled to give up and ever since was confined to the home, failing rapidly. About four weeks ago he was taken to Los Gatos in hopes that the mountain air might give him relief and at first, he seemed to improve. It was only the last rally, however, and he passed away as above mentioned.
Mr. McGeorge had many friends in St. Helena. He was honest and industrious, a good neighbor, and those who knew him best mourn his loss today. He leaves a widow and one daughter, Dawn, also two brothers and one sister, besides other relatives, all of whom have the heartfelt sympathy of warm friends in their sad affliction.
The remains were brought to St. Helena Wednesday evening and placed in the Masonic Hall until Thursday morning at 10 o'clock, when the funeral was held under the auspices of that order, of which deceased was a member. Services were held in the hall by Rev. James Mitchell and at the grave. The Masonic rites were read by W.W. Lyman.
