Ronald R. Morgan, 79, of Waycross, died Saturday at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House after an extended illness.
He was born in Nahunta, Georgia to the late C.E. Morgan and Inez Gunner Morgan ;; also preceded in death by five brothers, Royce Morgan, Edgar Morgan, Fenton Morgan, Rudolph Morgan, Brooker Morgan, and two sisters, Betty Jean Stewart and Clarice Bell.
Mr. Morgan was a retired truck driver for Flowers Bakery. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Morgan loved to hunt, fish and work in his garden. He used his talents as a craftsman to make handmade knives, walking sticks and birdhouses. A simple, hardworking, family man, he cherished more than anything the time he was able to spend his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife, Marilyn Morgan of Waycross;
two children,
Terry Morgan and his wife Shannon of Bryceville, Florida,
Curtis Morgan and his wife Sherry of Callahan, Florida;
his grandchildren, Ashley Calvo and her husband Freddie, Joanna Cox and her husband Charlie, Marlana Rowell and her husband Dustin;
three great grandchildren, Luka Calvo, Levi Rowell, Lane Rowell;
one brother, Glen Morgan and his wife Betty,
one sister-in-law, Elendar Morgan,
and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday in Greenlawn Cemetery.
