Nahunta- Edgar "Rusty" Moultrie Morgan, of Nahunta died Monday morning ( February 1, 2011) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after an extended illness.

Born in Nahunta, GA his parents were Colonel Ebinezer and Cannie Donie Harris Morgan. He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Laverne Rowell Morgan; step mother, Inez Gunter Morgan; and 4 brothers, Brooker, Rudolph, Fenton & Royce Morgan.

Rusty served in the United States Navy and was an agent for Okefenokee Rural Electric Membership Corporation. Also he attended Lake Grace Mennonite Church in Jesup and enjoyed fishing and wood carving.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Elender Crews Morgan of Nahunta; Step-daughter and her spouse, Sherry & Elwin Strickland of Hortense; 2 grandsons and their spouses, Nathan & Samantha Strickland of Jesup and Jared & Sarah Strickland of Hortense; 2 great granddaughters, Blaké Strickland of Jesup and Emily Strickland of Hortense; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Glynn & Betty Morgan of Lawtey, FL and Reagan & Marilyn Morgan of Waycross; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Clarice & Mitchell Bell of Hoboken and Betty Jean Stewart of Blackshear; 3 beloved pets, Alvin, Smokey and Lady Bug; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening (February 3, 2011) starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A funeral service will be held Friday morning (February 4, 2011) at 11AM at Satilla Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Yoder, Rev. David Troyer and Pastor Gene Miller officiating. Rusty will lay in state one hour prior to the service Friday morning.

Burial will follow in Hortense Cemetery, Hortense.

Pallbearers will be Byron Rozier, Taylor Davis, Terry Morgan, Dewayne Bell, Steve Bell, and Joe Overholt.
