The family joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They left Denmark in December of 1853. They docked at New Orleans on March 22, 1854. Ane was only ten years old when she walked from Missouri to Salt Lake City. Her mother died on the way to Utah.
Ane, her sister,Maren, and their father Christian went to Ephraim where they made their home.
At the age of 20 Ane married James (Jens) Olsen. They had five children.
Jens died at the young age of forty-three. Ane was a very hard worker. She was very religious and sincere. She was a quite person.
Ane died December 30, 1928 at Manti, Utah.
