"Together Forever"
Donna Bateman Steadman, 82, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away November 6, 2003.
Born May 21, 1921, in Alpine, Utah to William Allen Bateman and Sarah Russon Bateman. Moved with her family to Salt Lake City and attended school there, graduating from South High School in 1938, and later served on the alumni committee. Donna married her eternal companion, Donald Leonard Steadman, March 30, 1942, in the Salt Lake Temple. She was an active member of the LDS Church, became a Golden Gleaner, and served as a Ward and Stake Primary President, Ward Relief Society President, Stake Relief Society Counselor and in several other callings. Donna and her husband, Don, served as missionaries at the Granite Mountain Records Vault for 15 years.
Donna and her husband enjoyed traveling and spending time with their "Study Group."
Her hobbies included sewing, oil painting, and growing and drying miniature roses. She also served as a 4-H Leader. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.
Her beloved husband passed away March 5, 1999.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters, Bryan (Deborah) Steadman, Farr West; Bruce (Kristie) Steadman, Sandy; Brenda (Mark) Haymond, Sandy; Betsey (Winston) Hart, Bloomington, Idaho; 27 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph (Dorothy) Bateman; sisters, Belva (Bill) Walkenhorst, Bonnie (Leo) Stratton. Donna was preceded in death by husband, parents; brother, Allen; and grandson, Michael.
Funeral services will be held, Monday, November 10, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. in the Sandy Utah Crescent South Stake Center, 275 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State Street, Sunday 6-8 p.m. or Monday at the stake center from 9:00-10:30 a.m. prior to services.
Interment will be in the West Jordan City Cemetery.
