Children: Elizabeth Neal, Nathan Neal, Rebecca Neal, Harriet Neal, William Henry Harrison Neal, and Samuel Francis Neal. Its possible there are other children.


In the 1840 Mason County census there is a male aged 10-14 unaccounted for, and a female aged 15-19 that could be a sister(or sister in law) named Jane.


In the 1850 Kanawha County VA census Samuel T. Neal aged abt 40 is working as a blacksmith,

inferred wife, Sarah Neal 47 and Jane 28 , Elizabeth 19, Nathan 17, Rebecca 15, Harriet 13, William 11, Samuel F 9, and Martha aged 2 listed as member of household.


In the 1860 Putnam County VA census Samuel Neal aged abt 50 appears as S. Neale farmer with inferred wife S. Neale 58, and inferred children W.H.H. Neale 21 male, S.F. Neale 16 male, J. Fischer 38, female, M.P. Breding 12 female, and J.A. Breding 6 female. (Breding is possible transcription error)


In the 1870 Jackson County WV census Neal, Saml T 60 and Sarah 67 living in Mill Creek Twp with female Julia A Neal 15 -suspect this is granddaughter


In 1880 Mason County WV census

Samuel T Neal 72 is listed as father and Sarah T Neal is listed as mother of Samuel Neal 32 who head of household with wife L. Margaret.


In the Weekly Register, Point Pleasant (WV) 6 August 1890 issue, reports that Mrs Sarah Neale, wife of Rev Wm Neale died at her home at Red Mud, this county on Monday, July 28 th and was buried at Concorde, Wed. She was in her 88th year.


Samuel T. Neal passed aged 90 24 Jan 1898, most likely at the home of his son Samuel F Neal/Liddie M. Neal. Burial is thought to be in the McCoy-Starkey Cemetery per the Mason County Cemetery records Vol II. pg 176.


**Caution readers that there are varied spellings of the NEAL surname and just as many different family lines. Suspect that Samuel T. Neal's parents are John Neal and Ann O'Dell but much more work is needed.
