Mrs. Bertha Venso, widow of John Jay Venso, died Sunday evening at 7:30 at the Bethel Home for the aged.
She reached her 63rd birthday last Wednesday. She was born May 28, 1889 in Marion County, the daughter of Winfield and Joanna Alice Philips, and has lived in Newton since 1916. She resided at the Bethel Home since June 20, 1951.

She was married to Mr. Venso on May 27, 1916 at Marion. He died April 20, 1937.

Mrs. Venso was a member of the First Church of God.

Survivors include two sons Neil E. Venso of Newton, and Homer J. Venso of Fort Worth, Tex.; two brothers, Chester Owen Philips of Siloam Springs, Ark. and Roy A. Philips of Ventura, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Nelie Whitford of Elmdale, and four grandchildren.

A daughter, Mary Alice Venso, preceded her parents in death.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday. A short service will be held at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of the Bethel Home for the Aged for residents of the Home. Followed by services at the Evangelical United Brethren Church at 2:30, with Rev. J.C. Germany and Rev. C.R. Findley taking part in the services.

Burial will be in the family lot in Greenwood cemetery.

Friends may call at Moody's Funeral Chapel anytime this evening.
