Rose was the daughter of Jacob (1852-1916) & Anna Barbara (Breiter)(1858-1935) Hirt. She married first Frank Turcott and had three children: Erma, Frank, & Donovan Turcott. When husband Frank drowned in 1909 (see related story on his memorial)Rose moved back to her parents home at the insistance of her father to raise her children. She married second Adelbert (Del) Butler Fairbanks 19 Dec 1929. He died in 1938. Eleven years later she married her third husband, Ernest Lombard. One month after this marriage they were in an auto accident that killed Ernest and seriously injured Rose. Although Rose married three times she spent only 15 of her 87 years married. She is remembered as a gentle, quiet, strong person.

Mrs. Lombard, the former Rose Hirt, was born July 18, 1884 in South Milton Township in Antrim County.
She is survived by a daughter, Erma LaGrow of Cleveland; two sons, Frank Turcott of Atlanta and Don Turcott of Plainwell, Mich.; ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Dockery-Wilhelm Funeral Chapel in Elk Rapids with the Rev. James Lyman officiating. Burial will be made in Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning a t 7 p.m. Saturday.
